The Society
Founded in 1858, the Society currently has around 60 members. We are always keen to welcome new people and we do not hold auditions for entry. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings.
With two main concerts each year, the choir performs a wide range of music from the traditional choral repertoire to less familiar earlier and more-modern works.
Nicola Starkie joined the Society as its Music Director and Conductor of the Choir in January 2019.
Marion Bettsworth joined in January 2023 as Accompanist and Assistant Musical Director.
Fundraising
As well s singing there are several social events each year. As well as giving choir members more time to chat and get to know each other it also allows us to raise funds to support our rehearsal and concert costs.
This is our annual stall at Ludlow Market in May selling plants and other produce - and also taking the opportunity to promote the next concert.
